Protect yourself & others!
As a truck driver, there is no way around coming into contact with customers, receivers, fuel attendents, etc. There is however many ways to protect yourself and others. There are more details below on practices you can adopt to minimize risk.
Knowledge is POWER!
Knowing the symptoms of Covid-19 is critical and should be communicated immediately to your manager should any of these symtoms begin. DO NOT WAIT! DO NOT BELIEVE ITS JUST A COLD!
Distance
Always practice a safe distance of 6 or more feet from any individual. Customers and vendors understand this and it is for everyones protection.
Gloves
Wear gloves when possible, especially for fueling. Try not to handle any community things with your hands. If possible, keep gloves in sidebox after use.
Wash Hands Often
Wash hands every chance you get, if possible with antibacterial soap. Wash up your arms to sleeves and face as well. If you are fortunate enough to have hand sanitizer, use it often.
No Hand Shakes
Eliminate contact with anyone as much as possible. Use head gestures or wave.
